Jennifer Dalton’s multiple”This Too Shall Pass” is a reminder of the transitory nature of everything we cherish, abhor, anticipate and dread, as well as a terrible pun on the digestive system. Inspired by the ubiquitous hard-candies offered by great-aunts and grandmothers in the artist’s childhood, an urn-shaped candy jar is filled with butterscotch hard candies hand-made by the artist.
Dalton’s work has been exhibited in galleries and museums internationally, including the FLAG Art Foundation in New York, the Curator’s Office in Washington, DC, Kunsthalle Wien (Vienna), Contemporary Museum in Baltimore and the Chicago Museum of Contemporary Art. She was also included in La Superette at Deitch Projects & Participant Inc. Dalton is represented by Winkleman, NY. She was a recipient of a Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant in 2002
